Excellent Stay in the Lakes

ample tea pretty grounds
the room offered ample tea, coffee, sugar, and milk. these were replenished daily. the shower worked well, providing consistently hot water. the hotel itself looked grand from the outside. the grounds were pretty, and you could catch glimpses of the lake from certain vantage points.
some staff at the front desk were not very cute particularly when i was leaving. i wasn't asked if i enjoyed my stay and there were no pleasantries. this impacted the otherwise positive experience.

A satisfactory stay

food options clean sheets beautiful grounds old fashioned rooms unchanged bedding ceiling cracks
the breakfast had lots of options for food and different coffees available from their machine. the bed in the double room annex was very comfy with crisp and clean sheets. the hotel grounds were beautiful, with well kept gardens (i especially loved the roses).
The rooms looked more modern on the photos than in person. They were a little old fashioned. the bedding wasn't changed even when we put our sign out on the door for the room to be cleaned, due to us having a dog. there were also cracks in the walls and ceiling.

Adequate Stay With a Few Issues

undercooked bacon annoying swim school
The table service trial at breakfast seemed like cost-cutting so I asked for extra hash browns. The waiter had to get permission before bringing them, what a joke. When I complained about the undercooked bacon, the waiter just made a weird noise and walked off that was very helpful. the pool was hired out to a swim school three afternoons a week so I could not relax.
